Impacto del COVID-19 en la salud mental en trabajadores ecuatorianos: Ansiedad y Vacunación

Resumen: Introducción: A lo largo de la pandemia provocada la COVID-19, se ha visto como resultado la afectación de la salud, no solo de forma física, sino mental de los trabajadores y población en general, evidenciándose a través de un aumento de casos de ansiedad disfuncional. Objetivo: Evaluar el impacto de la Covid-19 en la salud mental de los trabajadores ecuatorianos durante el año 2021. Métodos: Se utilizó la escala de ansiedad por coronavirus (CAS), la cual posee un αs > .90, y una sólida validez factorial demostrada por varios autores. El CAS posee a su vez propiedades diagnósticas (90% de sensibilidad y 85% de especificidad). Resultados: Los resultados obtenidos muestran que las mujeres y trabajadores jóvenes de 25 a 34 años, tienen una mayor probabilidad de desarrollar ansiedad disfuncional u otros trastornos psicológicos como depresión 16 – 24 años OR ± 1.08 con I.C. ± (0.18 – 6.46); 25 a 34 OR ± 1.10 con I.C. ± (0.41 – 2.93); 44 a 52 OR ± 0.59 con I.C. ± (0.18 – 1.95), Conclusiones: Promover la salud mental en los trabajadores resulta imperativo tomando como base lo resultados de este estudio ya que de esta forma se podrá fortalecer el sistema de salud y reducir el impacto negativo en la salud mental que el Covid-19 está provocando a la población objeto de estudio.
