About the Journal

Focus and scope

INVESTIGATIO is the multidisciplinary journal of the University of Espiritu Santo Specialties (UEES), has an external review process (peer review) and publishes original review and research papers in Spanish and English. The journal is aimed at researchers, scientists and people who wish to know about the results of different studies and research.

INVESTIGATIO is an open Access magazine and does not charge fees for submitting papers, nor fees for the publication of its articles (Article Processing Charge-APC).

INVESTIGATIO publishes works related to Medical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Agronomy, Computational Sciences, Science Education, Architecture and Civil Engineering.The journal is aimed at the academic and scientific community of Latin America.

INVESTIGATIO has been circulating since 2010 (since 2014 electronically) and publishes one issue a year, in March. All published articles are accessible online immediately upon publication.

INVESTIGATIO is indexed in Catalog 2.0 of the Sistema Regional de Información en Línea de Revistas Científicas de América Latina, el Caribe, España y Portugal (LATINDEX), Repositorio de Recursos Académicos en Acceso Abierto del ISSN International Centre y la Unesco (ROAD), Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico (REDIB), Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE) and is a member of the official registration agency for digital object identifiers of the International DOI Foundation (CROSSREF); It is also registered in the Matriz de Información para el Análisis de Revistas (MIAR) and Clasificación Integrada de Revistas Científicas (CIRC). The information published is the sole responsibility of its authors. The Editorial Committee assumes no responsibility for the content published in each article. Section Policies

In INVESTIGATIO original and review articles are published.

Originals: Empirical works product of original research with the following sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion.

Reviews: Review and update of the scientific knowledge available on relevant and current topics with the following sections: Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusions and References.

Peer review process

For a manuscript to be submitted for review, it must comply with the established rules and publication format (see authors' guide) for the journal.All manuscripts are submitted to arbitration by at least two blind reviewers specializing in the subject and external to the Editorial Committee.A manuscript will be accepted depending on the evaluation and recommendation of the reviewers as to the quality and academic relevance of the manuscript.

Rejection of articles: INVESTIGATIO may reject the application of an article if it is determined that: a) It does not contribute to the scope and focus of the journal, b) it does not comply with the guidelines indicated for authors, c) it has already been published in whole or in part, or d) if in the originality review, through the specialized software Ithenticate of Turnitin, similarities and concordances with internet sources are detected.

Evaluation process: The postulated articles that pass the first editorial review, will be submitted to the double-blind arbitration system by external evaluators, who will independently rely on an evaluation rubric that considers three areas of review: Communication, critical thinking and content, and in addition to those recommendations are raised for the authors. Official communication will be issued to the authors regarding the publication of their article, if after the conclusion of the peer review process the result is "publishable with modifications" or "accept submission". The decision to reject an article is exclusive to the editors, either by observations of the peers, or by non-compliance with any of the points stipulated in the section "Rejection of articles". If the author expresses a desire to rethink his article and resubmit it to the process, editors will indicate how long the author must wait to do so.

Confidentiality: INVESTIGATIO keeps confidential data of the authors and reviewers, and of the results and details of the evaluation process, these being only communicated to the corresponding involved (authors, evaluators and editors).

Evaluation time: The evaluation time will depend on some factors, among them the availability of evaluators and the correction time of the authors.Once the observations have been submitted to the author, in the case of minor corrections, the author must send the document within two weeks.If the corrections involve restructuring the document, you will have four weeks to submit the corrected article.

In case of not receiving a response to the submission of the work, within two weeks, the author must redirect the document to investigatio@uees.edu.ec

Frequency of publication

INVESTIGATIO is of an annual nature, with a publication in the month of March.

Open Access Policy

The journal INVESTIGATIO maintains a policy of open access to all its content, making available the results of scientific research and all types of academic and scientific knowledge, free of charge through the following link: using the link: http://revistas.uees.edu.ec/index.php/IRR/.

To reinforce our open access policy, the journal INVESTIGATIO is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial 4.0 International license (CC-BY-NC 4.0), which allows sharing (copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format) and adapting (remixing, transforming and creating from the material), under the condition that the corresponding credits are given and no commercial use is made of the materials.

It is the journal's policy to keep the website and versions of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) operating system up-to-date so that the Preservation Network (PKP) ensures a long-term archiving service.

- You have no conflicts of interest with the research, authors or investors of the research.

- Handles confidential treatment of the articles designated for evaluation.

Author Ethics Policies

- You are required to participate in the peer review process.

- It has contributed significantly to the research.

- Declares authenticity of the data and the proposed article.

- You are obliged to provide corrections to your errors.
