Abstract

This study adopts a rigorous approach to mapping trending topics in the study of knowledge workers to guide researchers in selecting future research.  A word network analysis and strategic diagrams were applied to look over the comprehensive database of bibliographic references published in the Web of Science (WOS) and SCOPUS databases from 1977 to 2022, from which 694 articles were selected. The unit analysis was based on the titles, summaries, and keywords.  The word network analysis revealed five distinct communities: competitive advantage and organizational performance, work engagement, human resource management, knowledge creation, and work environment, and the strategic map identified three central themes with significant development potential: Competitive advantage, organizational performance, and organizational commitment.
